Protecting privacy

Putting people in control of their data

The protection of privacy of your employees, customers and other persons working in and with your organisation is legally regulated by the General Data Protection Regulation which came into force on 25 May 2018.

Privacy is a janus head, it has two faces. Where most people are fairly free to handle their private privacy, we also agree and so it is legally regulated that organisations must be very careful and strict with the private data of their clients, students and customers. This presents your organisation with a complex task, being strict and cautious on the one hand, while maintaining workability on the other. An important movement in this respect is to place the responsibility for access to the privacy-sensitive data as much as possible with the ‘private owner’ of this data, the individual. The personal data safe, where the owner indicates who is allowed to access which information and when, is a good example of this.

The basis of every privacy measure is good access management. If you know who is allowed to do what, and especially who is not allowed to do what, the first step has been taken. Capitar’s Identity and Access Management solutions will help you set up an effective and efficient access management system.
